William Jaeger

Bill Jaeger is a watercolorist who uses the luminosity of transparent watercolor to capture glowing light effects in his streetscapes, florals, marine scenes, still lifes, and landscapes. With no formal art education, Bill is primarily self-taught although he has taken many workshops from local artists. His paintings are the result of his keen observations of the world around him. Interesting shapes and the shadows and patterns caused by the effects of light are what draw him to his subjects.  His paintings are noted for their sparkle and clarity of color and are filled with rich pigments and strong contrasts. Bill is a signature member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society, an artist member of the Maryland Federation of Art, and belongs to the Annapolis Watercolor Club (President 2003/2004).  He primarily exhibits in the greater Baltimore-Annapolis metropolitan area.  His work can be seen at the Niland Galleries in Annapolis, the River Gallery in Galesville, the Art Gallery at Fells Point in Baltimore, and the Dragonfly Gallery in Martha’s Vineyard.  His work is held in many private collections and was featured in an International Artist publication, “How Did You Paint That? 100 Ways to Paint Still Life and Florals.”  Bill can be reached at pbjaeger@verizon.net.
