A Maryland native, Gail Higginbotham studied art at the Maryland Institute College of Art, Anne Arundel Community College and with several talented, local artists. An accredited member of the Maryland society of Portrait Painters and Oil Pastel Society, she is also the co-chairman of the Member Exhibit Committee with the Maryland Federation of Art. Her work can be viewed at the Aurora Gallery on Maryland Avenue in Annapolis, and the River Gallery in Galesville. Her oil pastel paintings have been exhibited in juried shows throughout Maryland and Virginia. She received First Place two years (2006 and 2007) in the Oil Pastel Society of Maine exhibit in Kennebunk, Maine taking Third Place in 2008.
